Green 2020 have partnered with a number of finance organisations to be able to bring clients the opportunity to implement energy efficiency projects without the need for capital budgets.

Based on the "software as a service model" Green 2020, backed by funding partners, will provide the up front funding to be able to finance and energy efficiency programme helping clients to realise savings from day one without the need to budget and fund the projects.

Naturally, finance needs to be repaid, but in this case the repayments are based on the ability to repay out of savings achieved. To help ensure that savings are being realised it is not untypical for clients to delay repayments until six months after the start of the project.

Payments are predetermined at the start of the project and are supported by a savings based business case. Repayment amounts are fixed and are paid quarterly over the duration of the repayment period which can be one year or more.

The benefits of this financing arrangement is that clients do not need to wait to making energy and carbon emission reductions, savings can be achieved straight away putting cash back onto the bottom line. The scheme is also flexible as it allows clients to stage the investments as the programme accelerates and also allows clients to adopt new more efficient technology as soon as it becomes available on the market.
